About This Project

Lady Liberty Academy Charter School opened in 2001 and currently operates out of a leased parochial school in Harrison, NJ.  In July 2014 they will move into their new home in the Vailsburg section of Newark to lease built-to-suit school space developed in partnership with Build with Purpose.  Build with Purpose holds a long term lease on the site which is owned by the St. John’s Ukrainian Church of Newark.  The 44,000 square foot school will be comprised of a renovated 17,000 SF elementary school,  a newly constructed 19,000 SF middle school and administrative wing, and a gym and exterior courtyard /  play space.   Project financing consisted of a public sale of fixed rate, tax-exempt and taxable municipal bonds issued through the NJEDA.  Peter Gluck and Partners Architects were selected as the architects and construction management group to provide a seamless, high quality, and efficient delivery of the project.
