Background
In 2011, Build with Purpose will be working with Pride Academy, in East Orange, helping them to purchase and renovate their existing facility and adding more space to meet the school’s needs. The school will be purchasing the existing building that it currently leases from the Imani Baptist Church. Renovations to the existing facility include reconfiguring the basement, upgrading classrooms and bathrooms, faculty room renovations, boiler room cleanup, and ventilation installation. The project also includes adding more space to the facility with the addition of four modular classrooms to the rear of the building, on newly acquired land. When complete, their new facility will provide Pride Academy with enough space to accommodate their students and enhance and expand their educational programs for the 240 middle school students they serve.
