Background
The Community Charter School of Paterson (CCSP) opened its doors in September 2008 in a permanent building of its own. After New Jersey Community Development Corporation won state approval for the charter school in 2006, it turned to Build with Purpose with for help with its facility needs. Build with Purpose secured $8.1 million in financing for the project and managed the conversion of the 35,000 square foot vacant warehouse into a school facility. New Jersey Community Development Corporation owns the building and leases it to CCSP. The facility allowed CCSP to expand from its initial 400 students in kindergarten through third grade to 500 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
