The Senior Residence at St. Peter the Apostle
Build with Purpose has been working over the past year to convert this former convent into a 25-unit affordable supportive housing facility. Located on the campus of St. Peter the Apostle Church in River Edge, NJ the facility provides a safe, warm and caring home to seniors. The Senior Residence at St. Peter the Apostle is a national model of unsubsidized affordable housing.
Minquadale Village Manufactured Home Owners Association
Build with Purpose guided the Minquadale Village Homeowners Association in purchasing their manufactured home community, Minquadale Village, for $2.1 million, thus securing the homes for the 84 families living there. It was the first purchase of its kind in Delaware under a law passed in 2008 which gives manufactured homeowners associations the right of first offer when the community’s owner decides to sell the property.
Newark Volunteer House
Build with Purpose secured a new home for Jesuit Volunteers in Newark, NJ in time for the start of their 2012-2013 placement year. Since the 1970’s, Newark has had a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) community house, and each year the house is home to 5-6 young men and women who spend a year volunteering full-time at various Newark-based agencies that offer direct service to low-income individuals.
The “Home to Homes” Veterans Supportive Housing Project
Build with Purpose partnered with the Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation to retrofit the vacant All Saints Episcopal Church into an 11-unit apartment building for homeless Iraq Veterans in Highland Park, NJ.
