Build with Purpose’s “10 for 10” Celebration
It’s hard to believe but next spring will be Build with Purpose’s 10th anniversary! In recognition of this milestone, we have planned an exciting year of 10 events and activities that will culminate in our 10th Anniversary celebration in June 2013. Our “10 for 10” celebration includes community events, fundraisers, fun activities, volunteering and opportunities to give to those in need. We welcome you to participate in any or all of the events we have planned.
1. Jeans for-a-Day – We are looking for companies to host a “Jeans for a Day” at their offices. For $5 employees can wear jeans to work and funds raised support Build with Purpose. Our goal is to have 10 companies participating. If your organization is interested please contact Christina Oztan at 732-635-1000 x155 or at coztan@bwpurpose.org
2. Social Gathering – Join Build with Purpose staff and board members for an evening of good food, drinks and good times. Build with Purpose staff will be “bartending for tips” in support of the organization and a percentage of each guest’s bill will go to Build with Purpose. The event will be held at The Brownstone in Metuchen in Fall 2012.
3. 10 for 10” Fund Appeal – Support Build with Purpose with a donation to our “$10 for 10” fund. Donate just $10 or $10 for each year ($100). Funds raised will support our projects and programs. Show your support at the end of this page.

4. Volunteer Day – Volunteer with Build with Purpose staff and board members at one of our projects- helping to paint, clean-up, garden, etc. Volunteer day will be scheduled for Spring 2013 – site to be determined.
5. Metuchen Nonprofit Center Open House – Build with Purpose will be hosting an Open House in April 2013. Come see the Metuchen Nonprofit Center in action and hear from the Center’s nonprofits about the benefits of co-locating.
6. Backpacks for Kids – Thank you to everyone who made our Backpacks for Kids campaign a success! Build with Purpose raised enough funds to supply backpacks to over 500 kids in need, in time for the new school year. Students from three schools in New Jersey, Boston and the Bronx were provided with backpacks. Click here to learn more.
7. Backyard Movie Night and Ice Cream Social- Friends, family and community members joined staff and board members at Build with Purpose’s offices for an end of summer evening where everyone enjoyed a “make your own” sundae bar followed by the movie Hugo, projected on the back of our building. 8. Beautifying our Community- In June 2012, Build with Purpose gave back to the community that it has called home for the past 10 years by helping to beautify Main Street in Metuchen. Thanks to all those who donated or volunteered their time. Click here to see the planting in action.
9. Supporting New Jersey Farmers – In June 2012 , Build with Purpose participated at the Metuchen Farmers Market and helped kids and participants plant seeds.
10. 10th Anniversary Celebration – Join us on June 6, 2013 to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Details to come.
